The Requirements

To be a strong fit for the Retail Channel Marketing Manager opportunity, you will have:

The Role

Opportunity Snapshot
Reporting to the Director of Channel Marketing, as Retail Channel Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth for The Home Depot through marketing programs, promotional development and execution. This will include assisting in developing and executing marketing plans, implementing promotional plans and supporting new product launches with sales and other marketing disciplines. 

You will play a key role on a Marketing team that includes channel & brand marketing, product management, in-house advertising, social media, mobile marketing, merchandising, web design and development, video, and communications. We handle every element of marketing in-house. 

Role Details
As Retail Channel Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for devising, launching and maintaining all Makita products and marketing programs and promotions for stakeholders within The Home Depot in order to grow Makita’s product sales within the US. You will create and develop marketing resources (product displays, digital applications, etc.) for this customer and sales representatives, and manage tactical execution elements associated with channel management. That will include communications, marketing program support and budget /expense management.

Daily, you will balance multiple projects and priorities, keeping them all moving forward and handling "911 situations" as they arise. You'll typically have 3-5 consistent projects at a time and fit in 5-20 minor ones as they arise. Throughout the year, you'll manage 4-6 large to very large projects. Nothing is cookie-cutter, meaning you'll be able to use your creativity and the full breadth of your skill set regularly. As part of your essential job duties. you will:
  • Create and execute channel field distribution, influence sales programs and promotions based on data-driven channel analysis, while maintaining an intense customer focus, integrating with Brand and Product plans, Business and Sales objectives and delivering on-time and within budget.
  • Own the execution of new programs, promotions & product introduction efforts, including coordination with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product and Brand Managers, in program development, communication strategy, sales tool development (i.e., Communications, literature, merchandising, etc.), training tools and execution.
  • Direct customer interface supporting field sales teams with an emphasis on supporting business goals while establishing strong connections to business strategy and brand positioning.
  • Implement customer and internal Sales team initiatives to drive and leverage growth in new and existing channels; providing cost-effective and demanding marketing program plans that achieve business goals related to product launches.
