Whether you're a new college grad or have a few years of professional experience under your belt, if you want to build a solid foundation with Makita U.S.A. that can streamline a move into sales, the role of Product Field Specialist is a rare opportunity. First, you will:
3-4 days at our La Mirada corporate offices in California where you'll work with teams from HR to Operations to Marketing in order to learn about Makita's processes and culture.
Work with fleet personnel to learn about DOT requirements and how to drive our Innovation Tour truck (pictured).
Attend training in Dallas, TX and Buford, GA to learn about our products and services, and to work directly with your supervisor.
Train in the field with Sales and construction personnel to gain hands-on, practical knowledge.
Be assured of having the tools and training needed for success before you're in the field on your own.
After training, you will:
Drive a Makita demonstration vehicle to events in a multi-state, Northeast regional territory stretching from Maine to Virginia and including New York and part of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Set up and pack up tool demonstrations, tents, tables and more.
Support Sales Representatives at the events, acting as a go-to resource and occasionally interacting with customers.
Pack up, check into a hotel and rest up to do it all again the next day (with expenses covered by Makita, of course).
This role is not for everyone -- but the payoff is big!
The challenge: You'll need the flexibility in your personal life to be on the road up to 90% of the time, including weekends, and you'll need high energy for physically demanding work Typically, our salespeople work and prove themselves as product field specialists for a year.
