The Requirements

To be a strong fit for the role of Product Coordinator, Channel Marketing opportunity, you will have:

  • Solid CPG experience 
  • Ability to utilize MS Office Suite programs including Excel at the intermediate level (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.); experience with project management and/or Smartsheet software a plus Quick question for you - click here
  • Proven project management skills; solid understanding of project lifecycle workflow; the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities  
  • Ability to travel on occasion (less than 5%) to attend a trade show, visit a client, etc. 
In addition, you will need the following core competencies and characteristics:

    • Work with other team members to accomplish shared department goals
    • Effectively interact with members of cross-functional teams, suppliers and other vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including:

Because this is a project-based role, you must be able to flex with demand. Some weeks you may work 40 to 45 hours, other weeks, especially in the peak building season, you may have to flex up to 55. Success will require that you have a "do what it takes" attitude toward your responsibilities.

Reporting to the Director of Channel Marketing, as Project Coordinator, your overall mission will be to ensure each project is completed on time. To meet your mission objective, you will review every channel marketing project to understand the requirements and workflow, collaborate with key players on the marketing team to ensure each live project is receiving the attention and resources needed for success, and communicate regularly with stakeholders across departments regarding tasks and timetables. Quick question for you - click here

Role Details

Most of your tasks will fall into two main categories: support and coordination. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Providing administrative support related to day-to-day marketing tasks
  • Coordinating channel marketing projects including acting as a project manager with internal teams and external vendors
  • Collaborating with marketing team including product marketing, creative and brand management, and cross-functional personnel including customer service, operations and sales
  • Preparing presentations and slides for channel promotions, customer meetings, etc.
  • Maintaining a channel promotional matrix and calendar
  • Providing project coordination related to promotional materials, meetings and events, and sales and marketing
  • Keeping communication lines open and information flowing so that all stakeholders understand their responsibilities, the schedule, changes, etc. and projects stay on track
  • Communicating and building relationships with vendors
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as your Makita knowledge and experience grows and as assigned by your supervisor
